Interfacing Serial Devices – Part 2 – Working with a Serial RFID Reader

Interfacing Serial Devices Begin by entering the data in the HyperTerminal, preceded by the $ symbol, to be saved onto the Card/Keychain. This device has a maximum storage capacity of 1Kb. Once you have finished typing, press enter or carriage return (the typed data may not appear on your screen). Interfacing Serial Devices will then wait for the card to be ready for writing. When you are ready, simply place the card near the device and it will begin writing. Wait for it to finish writing all of the data, at which point it will display “DONE.” To read from the card, just hold it near the device and it will automatically start reading. If using a Terminal Software, remember to download Driver PL2303 for compatibility.
