Pack Qty 20g. approx. 25 Seeds. Red markings on bright green, flat pods make this a colourful bean to grow. The red markings are unfortunately lost with cooking. A dual purpose bean for use as both green pod or dry bean. Excellent flavour used fresh or frozen. Highly ornamental plants. Height 1.8m (6ft) French beans dislike wind and cold and a sudden frost will kill them so grow in a warm and sunny sheltered spot and plant out in June. They grow best in a fertile soil with plenty of organic matter dug in, this should be neutral to slightly acidic with a pH of 5.5-7. Sow 5cm (2″) deep. Plant 30cm (12″) apart. Space rows 45cm (18″) apart.
