Description The amount or ballast and cement mixture required depends on the size of the hole that the post is going into. When concreting fence posts into the ground the posts should be buried a minimum depth of 2ft into the ground and the concrete is to be placed around the Fence post, but avoid placing the concrete underneath. If the post has concrete underneath as well as around the sides there is always a chance of rotting due to lack of drainage for water to flow.
